FBR decides to start inquiry against 460 millionaire citizens

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to start a crackdown against millionaire citizens to enhance the tax net.

The source has informed Customs Today that in an initial start, a total number of four hundred and sixty names of millionaire citizens have been finalized and the notices are being issue to them to inquire against their properties as well as luxury vehicles.

It is worth mentioning here that seven Inland Revenue (IR) offices will call one hundred and forty millionaire citizens from Sindh who are bearing valuable properties and, luxury vehicles. They will also be inquired against their foreign countries tours and visits. The stance from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has been taken to bring the citizen into tax net so that revenue can be enhanced.

All the four hundred and sixty millionaire citizens will be called at twenty three Inland Revenue (IR) offices not with the lawyer but in personnel capacity along with all the required documents and details of taxes that have been pain in past.

All the four hundred and sixty millionaire citizens will have to face dare consequences if they do not present before the concern Inland Revenue (IR) offices on the date decided by the officers whereas can be arrested if tried to escape from the inquiry, added the source.
