The officers of I&I intercepted the vehicle and inquired the driver about the legal documents but the driver failed to provide.

On suspicion, a complete search of the vehicle and container was carried out during which it surfaced that the container was filled with the smuggled contraband items including Indian origin poleystar cloths worth millions of rupees in the international market.

It is worth mentioning here that the Indian origin cloths are forbidden and the said consignment was brought under the cover of the Afghan Transit Trade.

The Deputy Director Customs I&I Shah Faisal has directed the officers to start the crackdown against Customs Duty evaders. He said that at the starting of the new year the Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) will also boost up the action against law breakers.
