Customs Court approves pre-arrest bail of proprietor M/s Azmi Plastic Works

KARACHI: Danish Ojha son of Muhammad Haroon, proprietor of M/s Azmi Plastic Works surrendered himself before customs court after directions of the Sindh High Court (SHC), who was booked in a case of sales tax evasion. The customs court granted him pre-arrest bail.

On February 11, 2019, above-mentioned suspect filed bail petition and argued that SHC had granted his protective bail and directed him to surrender before trail court, therefore, on the direction of SHC, he is ready to surrender before this court, however, he requested the court to grant him pre-arrest bail till final judgment in this case.

After the hearing, court granted him pre-arrest bail against surety of Rs500,000 and directed him to join investigation when required by investigation officer and appear before this court for conformation of bail.

According to the prosecution, accused is nominated in FIR No ST/Azmi Plastic Works/2018-2019-01 lodged at police station, Directorate of I&I IR-FBR in violation of Section 2 (37) and violation of Section 3, 6, 11, 26 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 and Chapter X of sales tax Spl Procedure rule, 2007 read with Section 14 ibid and other related laws.
