Customs I&I recovers non-duty paid curtain & sofa cloth from godown

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) team recovered huge quantity of non-duty paid cloth from a godown located in Ichra.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Collector Tayyaba Kiyani received credible information that huge quantity of non-duty paid cloth is dumped in a godown owned by M/s Star Collection. She immediately constituted an anti-smuggling squad under the supervision of Deputy Director Usman Tariq which also included Superintendent Saifullah Hinjra, Intelligence Officer Hamid Babar and Nadeem Ahsan.

The team raided a godown located in Ichra and recovered huge quantity of non-duty paid sofa and curtain cloth. The owners of the godown identified as Seth Muzammil and Khalid Batla failed to provide any legal documents regarding storage of cloth. Customs team seized the cloth and registered a case against the owner of the godown. Further investigations are still underway.
