Multan I&I seizes huge quantity of plastic granules during crackdown

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan has seized huge quantity of white crystal plastic dana worth Rs2 million during their action.

According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation received credible information from their source that huge quantity of Plastic Granules (plastic dana) will be transported through Dera Ghazi Khan Region to Multan.

Deputy Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Khial Muhammad Khan constituted special team under the supervision of Inspector Umer, Inspector Syed Qaswar Shah, Inspector Haq Nawaz, Abdul Rehman Kanjoo and others to carry out action against them and thwart their attempt of smuggling.

Customs Intelligence team started patrolling in the suspected areas and they intercepted truck bearing registration number: TKY -706 which was loaded with huge quantity of white crystal plastic granules. Customs teams recovered almost 220 bags of plastic granules during their action. The net weight of the recovered plastic granules was almost 9200 kilograms.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation team asked the driver of the vehicle to produce legal documents, but he failed to do so. Said plastic granules were of Iranian origin which is not importable and it is a notified item.

The Iranian origin Plastic Granules is brought only through unauthorized routes by way of smuggling. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan has formally seized Iranian origin plastic granules under the Customs Act, 1969. Further investigations are still under way.
