Member Customs Jawwad Agha directs Chief Collector to adopt comprehensive strategy to generate revenue

QUETTA: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member Customs Jawad Awais Agha asked Chief Collector to adopt comprehensive strategy in order to collect high revenue from February 2019 to June 2019.

Sources told Customs Today that Member Customs visited Quetta in order to mobilize newly established Chief Collectorate there. Customs Collectorate MCC Quetta hosted two days zonal conference where different revenue related issues were discussed.

The conference was  presided by Member Customs Jawwad Agha while other participants included Chief Collector Collectorate of Quetta Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhry, Collector Appraisement Quetta Raza Baloch, Collector Preventive Iftikhar Ali ,Collector Gwadur Yaqoob Mako and Collector Hyderabad Khalid Jamali.

The customs houses and stations would be linked to WeBOC and other latest system in order to facilitate tax payers and business community in the remote and far flung areas of Baluchistan. The customs authority would also assist business communities in this regard, the Member Customs stated on the occasion.

In his keynote address, Jawad Agha highlighted the various steps relating with the taxation and duties initiated by the FBR whereas during the session performance report from July 2018 to January 2019 was presented and stressed to adopt comorehensive strategy in order to collect target  from February 2019 to June 2019.

All the relevant Collectorates performance was reviewed by the respective Collectors while during the session, representatives of Quetta Chamber of commerce,  Pak Afghan Chamber along with trade community,  Deputy Convener Advisory Committee FBR met the participants of zonal conference where  Import, Export, Customs Clearance, local valuation, transportation, WeBOC,  Plant Protection  and other issues were also discussed.
