MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs collected revenue of Rs1863.359 million throughout the month of February of existing economic year 2018-19.
According to well-placed sources of Customs Today, the Collectorate has collected Rs1019.718 million against Rs1233 million revenue in wake of customs duty during February while it attained 83 percent revenue mark under the supervision of Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarrar. On the other hand the Collectorate was able to collect Rs.1001.804 million against Rs.886.310 million under the head of Customs duty during the corresponding period of February 2017-18.
Multan Customs collected Rs806.364 million against Rs2613 million in wake of sales taxes during February of the on-going economic year 2018-19.The Collectorate faced huge shortfall in the collection of Sales tax in the period of February due to deduction in tax ratio and accomplished only 31% assigned task during said month. The Collectorate has faced sales tax shortfall collection due to drop in the prices of High Speed Diesel (HSD) locally and worldwide.
The sale taxes collection depends upon the clearances of High Speed Diesel (HSD) consignments cleared through Multan Dry Port as import of the Multan Customs comprises 97% import clearances of High Speed Diesel and sale taxes collection has witnessed decline in the collection due to less clearances of High Speed Diesel in the month of February 2018-19.
Multan Customs collected Rs11.655 million against the set target of Rs.13 million under the head of Federal Excise Duty during the February of the current fiscal year 2018-19. It accomplished almost 89% of the assigned task during said period. While it collected Rs11.783 million under the head of federal excise duty (FED) against the set target of Rs22.572 million during the corresponding period of February of the fiscal year 2017-18.
Multan Customs collected Rs23.289 million against the set task of 17 million in wake of Income Taxes during the month of February of the current fiscal year 2018-19.The collectorate has attained almost 137 % of the set revenue task during February 2018-19.
The Customs Collectorate Multan has also collected Rs2.995 million in wake of additional Sales tax during February 2018-19.
