Dubai Customs said its in-house framework, Enterprise Architecture, has won the President’s Award – Service Delivery and Automation at the Open Group Innovation and Excellence conference, held in the south Indian city of Kochi last month.

The event was organised by Open Group, a global consortium headquartered in the US, that enables the achievement of business objectives through technology standards.
Its diverse membership of more than 625 organisations includes customers, systems and solutions suppliers, tool vendors, integrators, academics, and consultants across multiple industries.
Various business and innovation leaders from around the globe participated in the conference which was dominated by major topics including the best practices in enterprise architecture, IT, digital transformation, risk management and international supply chain.
Lauding the feat, Dubai Customs director Ahmed Mahboob Musabih said: “These recognitions are the fruit of the relentless efforts of our teams at Customs Development Division and the Service Innovation Department and the work towards the realisation of our vision as a leading customs organisation.”
“The Enterprise Architecture has streamlined the procedures and led to more client satisfaction. We hit a record in client happiness topping the happiness meter with 97.45 per cent thanks to our advanced systems and products which employ artificial intelligence and smart applications,” stated Musabih.
Juma Al Ghaith, the executive director of Customs Development Division, touched on the latest advancements that led to the development of the Enterprise Architecture. “This smart system streamlines our business and leads to easier and hassle-free customs procedures whilst saving cost and raising performance,” he noted.
Hussam Juma, the director at Service Innovation Department, attributed this achievement to the great efforts exerted by the higher management team at Dubai Customs who helped build an innovation incubator within Dubai Customs workplace.
Juma outlined the main role of the Enterprise Architecture which ensures that business and technology are in alignment by linking the business mission, strategy, and processes of Dubai Customs to its technology strategy, and by documenting this using multiple architectural models.
