Customs I&I generates Rs20m through auction of NDP goods

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has auctioned the confiscated vehicles, dry batteries, cosmetics and other items and generated Rs20 million revenue. Auction was conducted under section 2/205 of Afghan transit trade at warehouse on Multan Road.

Sources told Customs Today that seized items including impounded cars, spare parts, CCTV cameras, wood, fabrics, floating glass, ball bearings, wires, polypropylene, printed sheets, shoes, iron and other goods were presented for the auction on ‘as it is where it is’ basis. LEDs of 32, 40, 42 and 60 inches were presented for auction. Interested parties and persons were allowed to check the goods to participate in auction before the final auction date.

Customs auctioneer had issued directions that any person who wants to participate in auction of vehicles and other goods should bring his CNIC on the day of auction. During auction auctioneer Muhammad Akram, Deputy Collector Naveedur Rehman Bhagvi, Superintendent Yousuf Khan and other customs officials were also present in warehouse. The NTN was mandatory to participate in the auction.
