ASO impounds 103 NDP vehicles, goods worth Rs488m: DC Majid Gadd

ISLAMABAD: Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization earned Rs488 million of revenue from July to February of current Fiscal Year 2018-19 and impounded 103 vehicles and huge quantity of foreign origin smuggled goods.

Deputy Collector Majid Hussain Gadd while talking with Customs Today said that Chief Collector North Asif Jah has appreciated ASO for seizing huge quantity of smuggled goods including non-duty paid (NDP) and offending vehicles (carrying smuggled goods).

Talking about details of seized items, he said that during the above-said period the ASO intercepted 62 offending vehicles worth Rs68 million while the ASO Islamabad intercepted 41 NDP vehicles worth Rs223 million.

Gadd said that the ASO seized 32405 yards of foreign origin cloth, 257131 kilograms of food grains, 3919 kilograms of tea, 2251 tyres and tubes, 1099 auto parts, 164 kilograms of alloy rims, 13476 liters of mobil oil, 11828 sticks of fake cigarettes, 3623 electronic goods, 1026 miscellaneous medicines and huge quantity of different other smuggled goods.
