FBR to start survey in twin cities to dig out potential taxpayers

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to start door to door survey of potential taxpayers in the twin cities (Islamabad and Rawalpindi) and advised the field formations to spread awareness among the masses prior to the campaign against the tax evaders.

According to official sources, the board has decided to launch door to door survey campaign in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to dig out potential taxpayers who are not paying their taxes while the team is being formed by the field formations to visit the elite class residential areas and collect the data of the people who are potential taxpayers; however, they are avoiding to pay taxes.

The board directed the field formations to start advertisement campaign prior to the door to door survey in order to spread awareness among the masses regarding the survey campaign, sources confirmed.

Sources also added that the basic aim behind the door to door survey is to find out the potential taxpayers and also to dig out the tax evaders. The field formations are also directed not to harass the citizens, however, field formations are directed to employ all sources for revenue collection and take stern action against tax evaders.

Sources mentioned that the board has also clarified that a list will be prepared of potential taxpayers after door to door survey and will be presented to Prime Minister Imran Khan after FBR chairman’s review.
