Khawaja Asif excuses to appear before NAB

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Asif excused to appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi on Monday (today).

The PML-N leader informed the NAB about his unavailability in writing and stated that he is not in country. It has further been learnt that the accountability bureau will summon Khawaja Asif next week again.

The NAB had sent for the former minister in assets beyond means case. Khawaja Asif had been directed by the anti-corruption watchdog to bring along details of his bank accounts and foreign properties.

Earlier, NAB Director General Justice (r) Javed Iqbal had approved investigation into corruption charges against Khawaja Asif for causing a loss of Rs3.66 billion to the national exchequer.
