Sara-i-Muhjir ASO seizes 33050kg coal during road checking

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) Sara-i-Muhajir seized foreign origin 33050 kilograms coal smuggled from Afghanistan.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs ASO Sarai Muhajir team on the information of Assistant Collector Customs Ahmed Zaheer intercepted a Hino truck bearing registration number TKY-502 Lasbela. During searching process the FIU team led by Superintendent Ghulam Jaffar recovered huge quantity of coal.

The estimated value of the coal is Rs69,71,670. The team asked driver namely Muhammad Javid son of Abdul Habib to show documents but he failed to produce any lawful proof of its legal import.

The sources said that a case has been registered and further investigations are still underway till filing of this report.
