Additional Collector Asma issues notice to suspect in smuggling of Iranian HSD

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued a show cause notice to owner of non-duty paid Iranian oil. These Iranian diesel was brought into country through unauthorized route.

Sources told Customs Today that Sara-i-Muhajir ASO team intercepted a carrier tanker bearing registration No K-0055 with driver Muhammad Akram. During the course of checking it was found that the tanker was loaded with foreign origin 15000 liters of Iranian oil and documents exposed that the items were not lawfully imported.

The team asked the driver of the carrier oil tanker to produce necessary import documents but he could not furnish any. Hence the Iranian oil were detained under Section 16 and 18 of the Customs Act 1969 punishable under Section 156(1)90 of the Customs Act 1969 and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceedings.
