Customs ASO seizes Rs20m smuggled Iranian skimmed milk from Sheikhupura Road

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti- Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized over Rs 20 million Iran made skimmed milk.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Ahmed Rauf received credible information about smuggling of Iranian origin skimmed milk. After receiving the information he immediately constituted a ASO squad to thwart the attempt.

The ASO raided at a godown located near Sheikhupura Road and recovered millions of rupees dry milk was dumped illegally in the godown which transported to the godown from Quetta.  The milk was being supplied to the ice cream points where on large scale the milk was being used in manufacturing of ice related items. Sources told that further investigations are still in progress till the filing of this report.

It is necessary to mention here that Collector Ahmed Rauf directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt with iron hands.
