Quetta Customs impounds huge quantity of smuggled Iranian diesel

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Preventive impounded 40,000 liters of non-duty paid Iranian diesel from a vehicle with the help of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) near Gokurt almost 70 km away from Kolpur.

According to sources Collector Customs Preventive Iftikhar Ahmed directed anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling Iranian diesel and against petrol pumps involved in selling smuggled diesel.

Sources told that customs team comprising Deputy Collectors Abdul Qudoos and Asim Rehman are keeping strict vigilance on the movement of smuggled commodity while, while fuel stations dealing in smuggled Iranian diesel have also been raided. Moreover, another Hino truck having about 10,000 liters of diesel filled in floor and side cavities was also seized.

Sources told that  Collector Preventive  Iftikhar Ahmed divided the jurisdiction in two zones, whereas Deputy Collector Asim Rehman is heading zone-I, Deputy Collector Abdul Qudoos is heading Zone-II. Additional Collector Preventive Quetta Jameel Baloch is monitoring the operation.
