Customs Court directs to complete probe against M/s Uzair Enterprises & Shahzaib Enterprises

KARACHI: Customs Court directed investigation officer of Customs Collectorate Preventive to complete investigation and submit charge sheet against owner/ director/ partner/ proprietor of M/s Uzair Enterprises and owner/ partner/ director/ proprietor of Shahzaib Enterprises who were involved in import of restricted item LNBF in the garb of used mixed clothing through mis-declaration.

On May 18, 2019, investigation officer informed the court that on an information, customs team examined the consignment of above mentioned suspects and resulted in recovery of Neusat brand High Performance C-Brand PLL single LNBF input Freq 3,4-4.2 GHz, Output Freq 950-17550 MHz’ 32,840 sets, import of which is allowed subject to obtaining specific permission/ NoC from the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), instead of declaration of used mixed clothing.

He further disclosed that the mis-declared found items being restricted for import vide S. No 69 of Part-01 Appendix-B of the import policy order, 2016 read with Section 3 (i) and 3 (3) of the Imports & Exports (control) act, 1950.

He further informed the court that suspects in collusion with other associates-in-crime have individually and collectively indulged in import of restricted items Neusat Brand High Performance C-Brand PLL single LNBF imput Freq 3,4-4.2 GHz, Output Freq 950-17550 MHz’ 32,840 sets through mis-declaration have violated the provision of section 16 and 32 (1) & (2) of the Customs act, 1969 read with S No 69 of Part-1 of Appendix-B of the Import Policy Order 2016 and Section 3 (1) and 3 (3) of the Imports & Exports (Control) Act, 1950 punishable under Section 156(1)(9) and (14) of the Customs Act, 1969.

After the hearing court taken FIR into record and directed investigation officer to complete investigation and submit charge sheet on next date of hearing.
