Shipping activity at Port Qasim on May 21, 2019

KARACHI: Three ships namely MSC Joanna, GH Zephyr and SC Hai Kou carrying Containers and Palm Oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively during last 24 hours.

While three more ships, CPO Bremen, Hai Ji and Shalamar, with Containers, Canola Seeds and Furnace Oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same period.

A total of nine ships were occupying PQA berths to load/offload Container, Coal, Steel Coil, Soya Bean, Palm Kernel, Palm Oil and Diesel Oil respectively.

Out of them three ships, Milaha Qatar, Hong Dai and Al-Salam-II sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, and four more ships, MSC Joanna, Xin Yi Hai-55, SC Hai Kou and Yasa Ilhan are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 92076 tonnes, comprising 82,576 tonnes imports cargo and 9,500 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,514 Containers (TEUs), (1,014 TEUs imports and 500 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Six ships CPO Bremen, Maersk Atlanta, IVS Bosch Hoek, Coral Gem, Pyxis Ocean and VMT Bamzi carrying Container, Coal, Soya Bean and Furnace Oil are expected to take berths at QICT, PIBT, MW-4, FAP and FOTCO respectively on Tuesday. While container vessel MOL Generosityis due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
