According to the details, the petitioner prayed the court that the federal government introduced the scheme to provide relief to the tax defaulters by giving them exemptions from filing of tax returns and audit of ten years.

The applicant further said that government is making discrimination between traders and public as the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) took actions against the common people for not paying the tax but defaulters of millions of rupees were being facilitated by the government.

Government introduced tax amnesty scheme without approval from the Parliament and there is no space in the Constitution and law for such type of amnesty scheme.
