NEW YORK: USA and Russia Astronomers have discovered a Dwarf Galaxy, which is 7 million light years away from the Earth and 10,000 times smaller than our milky way. The galaxy was labelled as KKs3 and discovered in the path of southern collection of Hydrus by using the Hubble Space Telescope.

According to the researchers KKs3 does not have the same features like the spiral arms which can be found in our galaxies. KKs3 does not have the necessary raw materials to form its own star and leaves behind older and paler remains of stars. Scientists are suggesting that bigger stars like Andromeda are stripping this tinny galaxy of its raw materials. They are saying it was difficult job to find a small galaxy like this, because they have gone through endless collection of cosmic data to analyze.

The tiny galaxy was spotted by Dimitry Makarov, and Russian research team from the Special Astrophysical Observatory. They have discovered this galaxy while they were mapping out a group of galaxies in the Milky Way`s vicinity.

After the discover Markov said, “Finding objects like KKs3 is painstaking work, even with observatories like the Hubble Space Telescope It may be that are a huge number of dwarf spheroidal galaxies out there, something that would have profound consequences for our ideas about the evolution of the cosmos”.

The scientists thought that KKs3 was a part of another large galaxy, but later had discovered that this is a galaxy on its own. KKs3 was mapped in August and the scientists discovered that its stars weights together 23 million times more the Sun. The scientists are hopeful of finding more dSph galaxies after the discovery of KKs3. They suggest that newer and more powerful telescope like James Webb Space Telescope and the European Extremely Large Telescope will make more discoveries.
