Businessmen should be united in current economic condition of our country: Arshad Bhatti

LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Standing Committee for Import and Customs Affairs Convener Mohammad Arshad Bhatti has said that business community must remain united due to current economic condition of the country. He lauded the decision of government for abolishing zero rated regime but there is need to impose the same on export oriented units

He expressed these views while interacting with media on Tuesday. He said government should withdraw customs duty exemptions on locally manufactured products this measure will led to increase in revenue.

He said that businessmen prepared a list of these items which will be forwarded to federal finance ministry soon after Eidul Fitr holidays and the same will be submitted to the prime minister as well. He warned that there is mafia who is quite active to gain some benefits through SROs and schedules. He said that he compiled a report in this regard which will also be forwarded to relevant quarters.

He said that main reason for economic worsening is that some traders registered their forged companies to avail some benefits but lot of truth is buried behind the scene. He will expose this hidden truth on some other forum and on proper time.
