Kohat Customs seizes chemicals worth Rs12m

KOHAT: Customs anti-smuggling squad intercepted two trucks loaded with DDK bridge (chemical) worth Rs12 million (vehicle and chemicals).

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Collector Khial Muhammad received credible information about the smuggling of chemicals. He constituted anti-smuggling squad under the supervision of Assistant Collector Raja Bilal

He said that after interception the Customs staff asked driver of the vehicle to produce any legal documents but he produced GD relating to rubber processing oil (RPO).

He said that samples drawn and sent to laboratory while the report stated that the sample doesn’t match to the properties of RPO (rubber processing oil) therefore the Customs staff seized both trucks under U/S 168 of the custom Act 1969.
