Jhang ASO impounds non duty paid Toyota Jeep during routine checking

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) ASO has impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Rush jeep worth Rs9.2 million.

According to sources, Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad received secret information that some non-duty paid vehicles are plying on the roads. He formed a special ASO team to check these vehicles. The ASO team intercepted a Toyota Rush jeep bearing registration no: BF-5887 near Qasim Bharwana Multan Road Jhang.

The ASO team asked the owner of the vehicle who was identified as Farasat Raza to produce any evidence regarding the legal import of vehicle but he failed to show any legal documents.

After his failure ASO team impounded the vehicle under section 2(s) read with SRO 566(1) 2005 section 16 18 157 168 and 178 of the Customs Act 1969. The Customs ASO Jhang also forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
