Temperatures in Ireland reached up to 28C in some areas today as a heatwave continues to affect many parts of Europe.
A Status Yellow high temperature warning was in effect for six counties in the west and south during the afternoon.
The warning was for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick. Met Éireann also advised that the Solar UV index countrywide would be very high.
Met Éireann’s Dr Klara Finkele said that an easterly flow was bringing warm continental weather to Ireland.
She said the good weather will last tomorrow, with some areas experiencing temperatures of 27C, but temperatures will drop after that.
