Multan Adjudication decides 586 seizure cases of worth Rs1394.321m during FY2018-19

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office has decided 586 seizure cases of worth Rs.1394.321 million during financial year 2018-19.

According to details, Collectorate of Customs Adjudication has conducted speedy justice by disposing off highest number of seizure cases after completion of their trial. There were 207 different seizure cases of worth Rs106.394 million settled by deputy collector after their hearing during the economic year 2018-19.

Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Talib Hussain has finalized highest number of seizure cases after trial and decided 324 various seizure cases of worth Rs.587.737 million for the duration of fiscal year 2018-19.

Collector Customs Adjudication Muhammad Adnan Akram has decided 55 seizure cases of worth Rs700.190 million after conclusions during the monetary year 2018-19.

Customs Adjudication has decided several tax evasion and seizure cases in the favour of tax payer after collection of duty taxes and imposing penalty but majority of seizure cases were finalized in the favor of Customs department. These tax evasion, seizure cases and contraventions were formed by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Anti-Smuggling Organization and Audit branch of the Multan Customs.

The Customs Adjudication decided 82 pending seizure cases of Rs278.583 million from last fiscal year 2018-19 available for hearing. These seizure cases were still under adjudication in the Customs Adjudication Multan of Deputy Collector, Additional Collector and Collector. More than 78 various seizure cases are pending from last three months for hearing in the customs Adjudication Multan.

Customs Adjudication Multan has included 56 fresh seizure cases of Rs85.145 million in the month of June which are under adjudication and in most of fresh cases Show-cause notices to the respondents and offenders have been issued. Customs Adjudication Multan has 96 smuggling cases of Rs167.116 million available for their trial. Most of the cases are available for hearing at the Additional Collector Customs Adjudication.

Customs Adjudication Multan is disposing all seizure cases speedily on merit to provide quick justice through transparent hearing.
