Multan Customs impounds vehicles & goods worth Rs119.3m

MULTAN:  Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded vehicles and smuggled items of Rs.119.3 million in their different actions during month of June of the fiscal year 2018-19.

According to details, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has carried out various anti-smuggling operations in the Jurisdiction in the month of June on directions of Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarar. Anti-Smuggling Organization of Multan Customs Collectorate has launched rigorous crackdown against smuggled vehicles and goods in the region.

The Collectorate has enhanced the monitoring of the various routes adopted to prevent transportation of smuggled vehicles and goods in the jurisdiction.

Multan Customs Anti-smuggling Organization has intercepted 28 vehicles of different brands and models worth Rs56.83 million throughout June in their anti-smuggling actions in the territory.

These impounded vehicles include Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota Premio ,Toyota Vitz, Honda Civic, and others. Majority of seized vehicles were found non-tampered during examination of Customs Anti-smuggling Organization and few were tampered.

Multan Customs seized different miscellaneous goods in their different actions and detected almost 29 miscellaneous seizure cases of worth Rs.62.47 million in their actions. Customs teams seized foreign origin tyres, POL products, cigarettes, Bitumen ,seeds and others in their action.

Anti-Smuggling teams have curtailed the movement of smuggled items in the region due to their extensive crack down in the region. Multan Customs has able to detect only 23 seizure cases of Rs92.27 million in the corresponding month of June 2017-18.

Multan Customs Collector Ambreen Tarar has directed Anti-smuggling Organization to intensify anti-smuggling operation in the region to curb smuggling.
