Sargodha ASO impounds non duty paid Hino dumper truck

SARGODHA: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized foreign origin non duty paid Hino dumper truck worth Rs 6 million.

Sources told Customs Today that the ASO received information through Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig that smuggled Hino dumper truck brought into the country without paying custom duty and taxes.

Following the information, the ASO team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Shoaib, Inspector Muhammad Asad Javid, Havaldar Rana Muhammad Ashraf and Sepoy Hafiz Nasir Ahmed started checking of vehicles near Phatak Bhalwal Road district Sargodha. During checking the ASO team intercepted a Hino dumper truck bearing registration No SGH-7754 model 1991.

The ASO team asked the driver Mudassir Hussain son of Sanaulla to provide documents regarding possession of above said dumper truck. But the driver remained failed.

The ASO team seized the items under section 168 of the Customs Act 1969 for violation of section 2(s) 16 18 of the Customs Act 1969. The ASO team arrested the accused driver and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication department.
