Additional Collector Talib Hussain directs to conduct forensic test of impounded jeep

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Additional Collector Adjudication directed Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) to conduct second forensic examination of seized Daihatsu Rocky jeep on the request of owner.

Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has impounded a Daihatsu Rocky jeep bearing registration number: SLE /2823 from Taunsa region. Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has seized the said vehicle by claiming that they found its chassis number and body cut and weld during examination. Anti-Smuggling Organization team seized the said vehicle under Customs Act 1969 and framed a seizure report which were forwarded to Customs Adjudication for trial.

Anti-Smuggling Organization has also conducted forensic chemical examination of the said vehicle which also proves that said vehicle was cut and weld. Additional Collector Talib Hussain proceeded hearing of said seizure case. Owner of Daihatsu Rocky jeep Muhammad Ibrahim Balouch submitted FIR to Customs Adjudication that the said vehicle was fell into river in an accident and he has lodged complaint against it in the Taunsa Sharif Police Station. Owner of the said vehicle request  Additional Collector Talib Hussain to conduct re-examination of the Daihatsu Rocky jeep for second opinion as they have not modified their chassis number and its legal.

Additional Collector Talib Hussain has approved application of owner and directs for second forensic examination to determine whether it was cut and weld or not. The laboratory report will be submitted with in next 10  working days for further hearing of said seizure case.
