Multan RTO witnesses increase in tax net

MULTAN: The number of tax filers in the Regional Tax Office (RTO) observed handsome inclusion of taxpayer in their tax net due to their effective tax awareness campaign.

According to details, number of tax payers in the Regional Tax Office Multan has reached to 120,000 after the end of July 2019-20. The Regional Tax Office Multan widely focused on enhancing their tax base and made huge number of new Income tax filers. The Regional Tax Office has almost 68,000 income tax filers during corresponding economic year 2017-18.

According to available statistics of the Regional Tax Office 67553 people file income tax returns through electronically while RTO collected 2467 income tax returns manually from taxpayers before the deadline of Federal Board of Revenue. Regional tax authorities received almost 55,000 excess tax returns during economic year 2018-19. Almost 32 percent significant increase in filing of tax returns from individuals has been observed in tax office during corresponding economic year.

The Regional Tax Office Multan has done special attention on manufacturing and corporate sector besides individuals to broaden their tax net. The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax Office Multan efforts to educate taxpayers for filing of tax returns gave fruitful results.
