Customs ASO seizes RS 10m illegal skimmed milk

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded non customs paid over Rs10 million skimmed milk, sources told Customs Today.

The official sources said that on information of Collector Customs Preventive Ahmed Rauf, Customs ASO Deputy collector Naveedur Rehman Bughvi constituted team consisting of a superintendent and inspectors.

The team intercepted a container loaded with illegal dry milk at the Multan Road and confiscated the Iranian milk. The team recovered 880 bags of skimmed milk.

It is reported that the milk belonged to one Nabi Bakhsh, while the milk was being smuggled from Lahore to Quetta. The milk is used in ice creams and dairy forms for making milk.

It is necessary to mention here that Collector Ahmad Rauf directed all anti-smuggling squads to enhance patrolling in the region and adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling.
