Quetta Preventive impounds Hino truck loaded with smuggled goods worth Rs10m

QUETTA: Collector Customs Preventive Iftikhar Ahmad has said that ASO squad seized 2000 welding rods along with betel nuts worth of Rs10 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Preventive got a secret information that a huge quantity of smuggled items will be attempt to smuggled via jurisdiction of Drakshan, he added that after getting said information it was pass on to Additional Collector Preventive Jamil Baloch who farmed a special Customs squad led by Assistant Collector Akmal Durani and intercepted the 10 wheeler Hino truck bearing registration no: SEB-662.

The Collector informed that after intercepted the offending vehicle the Customs squad Quetta asked the possessor of the vehicle and smuggled goods to show if they got any document those could prove that goods are legal but the possessor failed to provide any relevant legal document, it added that the Squad seized the goods and bring the smuggled goods including offending (vehicle use for smuggling) to the MCC Quetta.

The seized smuggled goods were comprises as 2000 numbers of foreign origin welding rods, 7 kg of Indian origin betel nuts, scrape and a accountable quantity of nut bolts, the ASO Quetta also seized the Hino truck and registered case against the offenders under Customs Act 1969, the value of smuggled goods along with offending vehicle estimated in worth of Rs.10 million.

The staff taken part in said seizure were comprises Assistant Collector Akmal Baloch, Superintendent Younas Durani, Inspector Akhtar Shahzad, it told that the Customs Chief Collector Baluchistan Zulifqar Chaudhry appreciated the preventive staff of MCC Quetta to made this seizer. Ends
