Activities of Port Qasim

KARACHI: A cargo volume of 164,771 tonnes comprising 140,127 tonnes of import cargo and 24,644 tonnes of export cargo including 3,574 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 140,127 tonnes includes 55,675 tonnes of coal; 7,500 tonnes of palm oil; 7,090 tonnes of chemical; 17,206 tonnes of mogas; 1,907 tonnes of general cargo and 50,749 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 24,644 tonnes includes 7,487 tonnes of rice and 17,157 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,574 containers comprising of 2,671 containers import and 903 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.

There was one ship namely Porthos carrying general cargo sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another ship namely Colette carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of nine vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, coal, rice, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as two vessels viz. Gulf Horizon and Al-Salam-II carrying mogas and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were two ships viz. GSL Eleni and Gulf Horizon carrying containers and mogas respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.

There were two ships namely Diyala and Safmarine Nyassa carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while another ship namely Nordmed carrying containers is due to arrive on Sunday.
