Islamabad I&I earns Rs55m through auction of goods & vehicles

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Islamabad fetched revenue of more that Rs 50 million through auction of seized vehicles and smuggled goods.

According to details told by official sources of Directorate of I&I (Intelligence and Investigation) Islamabad that Customs Intelligence conducted a very successful auction of NDP (non duty paid) and offending vehicles.

Sources said that overall 22 numbers of valuable vehicles including 2 Honda city cars, Toyota Vitz car, 03 Toyota land cruisers Prado, Honda Civic Reborn car, Mercedes car bullet proof, BMW 7 series car, BMW 735 Li, Toyota Fielder car, Toyota Premio car, Toyota Corolla X car, Toyota Corolla G car, Toyota Land Cruiser VX limited, Toyota Land Cruiser CYGNUS, Mercedes Benz car S-500 and Mitsubishi Pajero, 02 Suzuki Swift cars, 2 Toyota Mark-X cars were presented into public auction, adding that out of 22 vehicles 18 vehicles were sold on very good prices.

The sources told that total 8 lots of smuggled goods were presented for auction out of which 7 were sold in the auction. The auctioned goods comprised foreign origin Boski cloth, Misc goods, blankets, Pancake coils East and West brands, Dewpalon washable PU leather, Iranian origin carpets, Refrigerant gas cylinder and tyres of different sizes. Auction of both goods and vehicles fetched Rs 55.451 million revenue.

DG Customs Intelligence Zahid Kokhar made an appreciation call to the auction staff of I&I Islamabad who organized a public auction with professional manners following government laws and regulations.
