Quetta Customs foils bid to smuggle huge quantity of smuggled goods

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Preventive team foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of foreign origin non-duty paid goods near Lakpas check post.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Preventive Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad received credible information about smuggling of foreign origin goods through passenger buses. He directed Additional Collector Jamil Baloch, Assistant Collector Saleem Tahir and Superintendent Aslam Khan to enhance checking on all entry and exit points of the city.

Incharge of Lakpas check-post Inspector Jamil Kakar, Inspector Arif Dotani intercepted different vehicles and recovered huge quantity of smuggled ladies and gents cloth worth millions of rupees.

Chief Collector Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary lauded the performance of the Collectorate and directed to use all available resources to curb smuggling attempts in the region.
