Multan I&I Director Dr. Adnan Akram visits Sadiqabad region to check anti-smuggling measures

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Director Dr. Muhammad Adnan Akram visited Sadiqabad region to check anti-smuggling measures adopted by field intelligence staff.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Adnan Akram has paid first visit to Sadiqabad region after assuming look-after charge of Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan. The main purpose of surprise visit was to check available field intelligence staff of Customs I&I on their assigned jobs from range office. During his visit the director has also verified attendance of field employees on duty.

Director Adnan Akram has also visited various check posts and strategic points of Sadiqabad region during his visit in the office. He advised Customs team to increase vigilance of goods movement from specific suspected routes.

Adopted routes of smugglers will be specially monitored to curb smuggling and few staff will conduct patrolling in the Kot Sabzal check post for monitoring of non-customs paid vehicles and miscellaneous goods.

Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation FBR Multan office is comprised of Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sadiqabad region. Sadiqabad region is one of the main routes adopted for smuggling in the jurisdiction through which smuggled items are entered into Punjab. Director Adnan Akram has directed field intelligence staff to enhance surveillance of suspected goods and vehicles to curb smuggling in the territory.
