Appraisement West submits FIR against M/s Trade & Transport International

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement West has submitted first information report (FIR) before the Customs Court against Syed Danish Feroze, owner of M/s Trade & Transport International, officials of provincial excise, taxation and & narcotics control, Karachi, Peshawar and Swat KPK and others for submission/ filing of the fabricated/ bogus/ fake goods declaration, import general manifest and allied documents under section 79 (I) (b) to get the registration of 16 smuggled vehicles.

On October 24, 2019, investigation officer submitted FIR and informed the court that preliminary inquiry on the basis of supplied documents by the respective MRA’s it is revealed that 16 imported vehicles were registered on the basis of fake and fabricated documents by the beneficiary in connivance of respective officials of provisional excise and taxation authority without verification of customs clearance from this Collectorate.

He further submitted that moreover, the collusion and in efficiency of the part of respective excise and taxation could be gauged from the fact that one unit used Hino truck bearing same chassis number FGIJE-10156 was registered twice and allocated separate registration numbers EA-6790 at Peshawar and JQ-1079 at Karachi.

Investigation officer said that it is established that the above mentioned importer have deliberately prepared the goods declarations with fake particulars in the PRAL system through authorized user ID in connivance with beneficiaries and so called importers as well as officials of respective MRA’s, this act on the part of clearing agent, owner/ beneficiaries was resulted into loss of legitimate revenue Rs129.91 million, therefore, case has been registered against importers, owner of 16 vehicles and other officials.

After the hearing, court taken FIR into court record and directed him to complete investigation and submit charge sheet on next date of hearing.
