Multan Adjudication decides 76 seizure cases of Rs114m

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office decided 76 seizure cases of worth Rs 114 million during the month of October 2019-20.

According to the details, Customs Adjudication did legal trial of 178 seizure cases for the duration of October 2019-20. Customs Adjudication Collector, additional collector and deputy collector conducted trial of various seizure cases according to authorized power to adjudicate cases as per their rank and amount of duties and taxes involved against seized or confiscated goods. These seizure cases were detected and framed by Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation and Multan Anti-Smuggling Organization in their different actions in the jurisdiction. Deputy collector has decided 28 different seizure cases of Rs14.711 million after the completion of trial during the month of October while almost 28 fresh seizure cases of Rs.18.492 million has been added for hearing in Customs Adjudication during said period.

Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Sumaira Omer decided 45 various seizure cases which involved revenue of amounting Rs 83.294 million for the period of October. The decided case of additional Collector Customs Adjudication includes different smuggled cases of vehicles, goods and contraventions cases. Additional Collector has decided all seizure cases in favour of Customs department after conclusion of their trial. As many as 11 fresh seizure cases of worth Rs.21.100 million were added in the Additional Collector Customs Adjudication court in October for trial.

Collector Adjudication Dr. Adnan Akram decided 3 seizure cases involving revenue of Rs.16 million in said period. All these settled cases were against tax evasion, misuse of DTRE which were concluded after completion of hearing. Customs Adjudication has included almost 6 new fresh seizure cases of Rs 34.500 during October for trial.
