Orange Line metro train set to hit rails today for trail run

LAHORE: Orange Line metro train is all set to hit the rails today (December 10) for its trial run, while the route has been decorated with flowerpots.

According to details, the plan has been finalized for the test run. The OMLT will run from Dera Gujran at 2 pm to Stabling Yard near Ali Town. During the test run, the train speed will be kept around 40 to 50 kmph. The train will cover 27.1 km in 45 minutes.

Guests, who will take the test ride, have been instructed to arrive at Dera Gujran while the main event will be celebrated in Ali Town around 2:50 pm.

All metro stations will be closed during the test run. The special protection unit will also be present for security measure.

Meanwhile, Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) is busy cleaning the train route. Garbage in the suburbs adjacent to the metro station has been cleaned with the use of a dumper.

The Water And Sanitation Agency (WASA) workers are also performing their duties, while PHA has also sent flowerpots to decorate the station.
