FBR issues 2257 tax notices to defaulters of agri income tax

MULTAN: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Regional Tax Office (RTO) has issued notices 2257 tax notices to defaulters who did not submit agricultural income tax after verification.

Assistant Commissioner Shahzad Khan has issued agricultural income tax notices to 2257 landowners across the district. Assistant Commissioner told Customs Today that we will start the assessment of agricultural income tax after December 16. He said that agricultural income tax payers voluntarily make sure to pay their due taxes immediately before the government machinery comes into operation and take strict action them.

The Federal Board of Revenue has started crackdown against agricultural defaulters and started assessment of income based on agricultural income tax.

Strict action has been taken against the defaulters to ensure collection of agricultural income tax and it will also enhance income tax collection of Regional Tax Office. Multan is the prominent city of South Punjab where majority of people affiliated with agriculture but tax collection from them is inadequate.

The Regional Tax Office has taken action against defaulters of agricultural landowners who are not paying their due taxes with the assistance of FBR. Rs350 million tax will be collected from 3500 defaulters very soon.
