Customs Adjudication taking steps to deliver speedy justice to traders: Deputy Collector Abdul Mueed Kanjoo

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication is committed to ensure speedy justice to traders and facilitate them while sticking to the rule of law and justice. Customs Adjudication is disposing seizure cases on merit through fair trial of presented evidences. Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office has shown exceptional performance by disposing record number of seizure cases after completion of their legal trial in the first five months of on-going economic year 2019-20.
This was stated by Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication Abdul Mueed Kanjoo while talking exclusively to Customs Today on other day.
He said that Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office has discouraged the respondents and their legal consultants for taking unnecessary adjudicating time in the hearing of seizure cases during trial. Customs Adjudication is disposing all seizure cases speedily on merit to provide quick justice through transparent hearing and discouraged unnecessary delay in the seizure cases.
He said that Custom Adjudication is making every effort to dispose seizure cases before the bounded period of seizure and Adjudicating Officer is bound to decide any seizure case within 90 days of the issuance of show cause notice and I have decided all seizure cases within the assigned period after assuming my responsibility.
Kanjoo told Customs Today that Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office has finalized all under adjudication seizure cases with in time. Customs Adjudication Multan has disposed 273 various seizure cases of worth Rs.553.576 million during the five two months (July-November) of the on-going economic year 2019-20.Deputy Collector Abdul Mueed Kanjoo has finalized maximum number of 155 seizure cases of worth almost 278.501 million in Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office during said period. He said that speedy trial in the seizure cases benefits taxpayers by saving valuable time, money and energy.
Collectorate of Customs Adjudication is one of the most important collectorate for the generation of revenue in Customs and Collectorate Officials were well aware of their responsibilities and providing invaluable technical assistance to their high-ups through speedy disposal of seizure cases.
He told Customs Adjudication is giving maximum output with its limited resources. Customs Adjudication is one of the revenue generating departments for the Customs and Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office has provided handsome revenue to the Collectorate which assists them in accomplishing their set revenue task.
Customs Adjudication is working efficiently to provide speedy justice through transparent hearing and discouraged unnecessary delay in the seizure cases.
