Customs Preventive detains smuggled Indian origin consignment of medicine

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive apprehended Indian origin second consignment during last two days.
According to the details, the consignment of medicine was smuggled from India which was busted after getting authentic information from Collector Customs Preventive Saqib Saeed.
During the raid conducted at gowdon located on 4th floor of the Oden Center near Regal Chowk Saddar, smuggled Indian origin medicine was recovered in huge quantity worth Rs 21 million in the international market.
The case against the said seizure has been filed and further investigations are underway to apprehend the mastermind involved in the heinous crime of smuggling.
It is pertinent to mention here that on the instructions of Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Syed Mohammad Shabbar Zaidi, the vigilance against the Indian consignment has been increased and on Wednesday a consignment was also busted at the Port Muhammad Bin Qasim (PQA) during which Indian origin body cream worth millions of rupees was recovered.
