FAISALABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (i&i) has seized non duty paid foreign origin smuggled dadies Shafoon cloth during an action at delivery Godown of M/s Dawood Mills. Intelligence team has sealed the godown due to the storage of illegally imported cloth.
Sources told Customs Today that in pursuance of authentic information,Additional Director Zahra Haider constituted a special team to crackdown foreign origin ladies cloth. The raid was conducted on a tip off that illegally imported cloth were being stored at the godown of M/s Dawood Mills.
The team raided at delivery godown of M/s Dawood Mills near Dewoo Road Satara Sapna city and recovered a huge quantity of smuggled cloth. Whereas that owners of the godowns escaped from the scene. Faisalabad intelligence seized these items on the violation of Import and Export Control Act 1950 punishable under Section 156(1) 89(i) and 90 of the Customs Act 1969 and forwarded the cases to Customs Adjudication for further legal action while case has been forwarded to the Investigation and Prosecution ( I and P ) department for further investigation.
About smuggling activities Additional Director Zahra Haider is taking every possible measure to curb smuggling activities in the region. The Director Muhammad adnan akram also hailed the performance of Faisalabad intelligence team she said that intelligence teams showed outstanding performance.
Replying to a question Zahra Haider said that Muhammad adnan akram of Federal board of Revenue strictly instructed to all customs Staff to adopt zero tolerance policy against those who found involved in smuggling.
The team participated in this seizure operation included Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shoukat Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer, Muhammad Saleem took part in the operation.
