ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi filed reference against corruption in Musharraf era ‘Saaf Pani Sab Ke Liye’ program.
Project Director Sikandar Javed, GM Nespak Jameel Bajwa, former secretary Shahab Anwar, Jahanzeb Khan and Abdul Moeed Farooqi are nominated as accused in the case.
Reference states that accused granted contracts of Rs3.5 billion to fake companies resulting in loss of billions to National Exchequer. Program was aimed to develop over 6500 water filter plants across the country.
According to NAB reference, Faisalabad based company was represented as an Italian company and both companies were declared fake by SECP. Number of filtration plants costing Rs4.5 million was increased to 1295 from 329 without prior permission.
