Under supervision of DG Najaf Mirza, Director IW-2 Hafeez Siddiqui arrests Maxim Group officials

KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi under supervision of DG Najaf Quli Mirza has geared up its operations against the corrupt and has been performing exceptionally well. Under the dynamic vision and guidance of Hon’ble Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal, NAB Karachi has now actively taken up mega corruption cases to stop huge losses to the national exchequer.

After taking charge as DG NAB Karachi, Najaf Mirza has accelerated the process of eliminating the menace of corruption and recorded a big achievement in a mega corruption case of Fazaia Housing Scheme. Director IW2 NAB Karachi Hafeez Siddiqui, under supervision of DG Najaf Mirza, arrested Ch Tanvir of Maxim Group & his son Bilal on 27 December, 2019 for cheating 10,000 allottees of Fazaia Housing Scheme including general public & armed forces personnel and illegally collecting more than Rs 20 billion from them.

Director IW-2 Abdul Hafeez Siddiqui said that no approvals of SBCA, KDA & MDA were sought neither any worthwhile work was witnessed in this housing scheme during last five years. All accounts of Fazaia & Maxim Group have been frozen by NAB and NAB teams are also conducting raids for arrest of other accused in this case.

Team headed by Abdul Hafeez Siddiqui Director IW-2 comprising DD Aslam Pervez Abro Senior IO, Salahuddin Mughal Case Officer, DD Coordination Adeel Ahmed, OC Intelligence Nauman Mushtaq and DD Intelligence Ali Siddiqui took part in this raid.

Earlier, NAB Karachi initiated an inquiry against the M/s Fazaia Housing Scheme, Karachi, a private housing society, to address the grievances of victims. The NAB Karachi received many applications from the complainants regarding land frauds and against the managements of cooperative societies. The complaints were received by Director General NAB Karachi, Najaf Quli Mirza. The DG NAB appreciated the overwhelming response of general public, and said it was a sign of trust reposed by public in performance and delivery by NAB on its efforts against corruption.

Director IW-2 Abdul Hafeez Siddiqui said that the Bureau had requested to initiate a fresh inquiry against M/s Fazaia Housing Scheme, Karachi, and others. In view of huge number of 6000 victims and involving an amount of Rs13 billion invested by the general public, the chairman NAB was requested to initiate a fresh inquiry into the allegations of cheating public at large to provide relief to the victims of the above-mentioned housing scheme.

Under NAB Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal’s leadership, all Karachi staff is working like a team. Under DG NAB Karachi’s supervision, Director IW-2 Hafeez Siddiqui is working efficiently and recovering the looted money from the corrupt on a fast pace. Hafeez Siddiqui has shown his full commitment to eradicate the menace of corruption from the society. The Bureau is showing record performance as NAB Karachi officers including Director Hafeez Siddiqui are committed to make Pakistan a corruption-free country.
