LAHORE: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) has ordered the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and customs authorities to complete audit of the auction of vehicles which were impounded from different people on allegations of illegal import and non-customs paid.
Sources told Customs Today the FTO Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has ordered inquiry of the matter and audit from 2013 to 2019. An application was moved by the Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTA) and Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA) against different issues raised by the concerns in auction of non-custom paid vehicles.
Talking to media, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera said that all communities including lawyers should cooperate the concern departments to eliminate smuggling into Pakistan. It can increase revenue collections by the customs he added.
