Multan Preventive impounds NDP vehicles&  goods worth Rs412.94m during January

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Preventive seized non-duty paid vehicles and miscellaneous goods of worth Rs412.94 million during various anti-smuggling actions in January 2019-20.

Collector Muhammad Saleem has intensified crackdown against smuggled goods in the Collectorate to curb smuggling in the territory. The Anti-Smuggling Organization squads were deployed strategically to foil the attempts of smuggling. Multan Customs enhanced the monitoring of suspected routes to intercept the non-customs paid (NCP) vehicles.

The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) was assigned task of Rs186 million for the month of January but Collectorate impounded 32 smuggled vehicles including  Toyota Vitz, Honda Civic, Toyota Land Cruiser, Mitsubishi Pajero, Toyota Hilux Surf and others in their various crackdown.

Anti-Smuggling Organization has also impounded foreign origin non-customs paid Kato Crane in their action. Few impounded vehicles are found tampered and non-tampered. Special measures of Anti-Smuggling Organization has detected several mega seizure cases of betel nuts, cloths, Cigarettes and others of almost worth Rs412 million during their aggressive crackdown in the region during January 2019-20.Multan Customs Preventive has seized miscellaneous goods and vehicles of  worth Rs61.43 million in anti-smuggling actions during corresponding period of January 2018-19

These impounded vehicles and goods were intercepted from Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali region during crackdown of Anti-Smuggling Organization in the month of January.

The Anti-Smuggling Squad has specifically focused on the interception of smuggled vehicles and goods in the Jurisdiction to curtail transportation of non-duty paid vehicles and various goods from clandestine routes in the country.

Multan Customs has done successful anti-smuggling operations and seized huge quantity of foreign origin HSD products, cloths, auto parts and contraband items in their action during January. Multan. Customs Anti-smuggling Organization has enhanced the patrolling in the suspected routes adopted for smuggling in the Jurisdiction to curb smuggling. Anti-Smuggling Organization is playing its vital role in the elimination of smuggling in Jurisdiction due to their crackdowns against smuggled goods and vehicles for the promotion of legitimate trade.
