The sources concerned said that transporters strike against hike in fines led to a decline in exports as no containers could go to the ports or get loaded.

It has been learnt that Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industries, Production and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood will hold a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan and will apprise him about the factors that led to decrease in exports. Decisions of some divisions and ministries taken without consultations have negatively affected the exports, the sources said.

The taxes and surcharges in the electricity tariff by Power Division on the exports sector also contributed to decline in exports.
