Shipping activity at Port Qasim on Feb 18

KARACHI: Eight ships, MSC Cardoba, MSC Mehdi, Maersk Jalan, Jin Hao, Han Xin, Tiger Winter, Navig-8 Steelar and Georgia-M, carrying Containers, Coal, General cargo, Chemicals, Palm oil and Mogas were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Port Qasim Electric Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.

Meanwhile two more ships, SM Charleston and Astakos with Containers and Coal also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Tuesday morning.

A total of twelve ships were engaged at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Soya Bean, Steel coil, Project Cargo, Chemicals, LNG, Mogas, and Palm oil respectively.

Out of them, three ships, MSC Cardoba, Han Xin and Kobe Star sailed out to sea from QICT, MW-1 and MW-2 on Tuesday morning, while three more ships, Solaris, MSC Mehdi and Limnionas are expected to sail from PGPCL, QICT and FAP on same day in the afternoon.

Cargo throughout during last 24 hours stood at 187,466 tonnes, comprising 155,926 tonnes Imports cargo and 31,540 tonnes exports cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,195 Containers (2,535 TEUs Imports and 1,660 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port at the Port.

Five ships, Maersk Kensington, SM Charleston, Global Striker, Bao Grand and Astakos carrying Containers, Steel coil and Coal are expected take berths at QICT, MW-1-MW-2 and PIBT respectively on Tuesday.

While a containers vessel MOL Grandeur due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
