ASO recovers NDP tyres worth Rs80m from godown near Tarnol

ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) raided a gadown near Tarnol and seized different quality tyres worth Rs80 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Chief Collector North Dr. Asif Jah Mehmood received credible information that huge quantity of non-duty paid tyre are dumped in a godown located near Tarnol.

He immediately directed Collector Seema Raza Bokhari to take necessary measures in this regard. She constituted squad under the supervision of Assistant Collector Rao Fahd. The anti-smuggling squad raided a godown near Tarnol at about 7 am and recovered huge quantity of non-duty paid tyres.

The market value of seized tyres is Rs80 million in international market.

During the months of January and February 2020 the ASO Islamabad was made huge crackdown against gadown of smugglers and tax evaders at Rawalpindi and Islamabad, he added that ASO seized multiple raids on gadwons of smuggled goods including renowned chemist “Shaheen and D-Watson”, and also seized dozens of out lets of said pharmacists in different sectors situated at the capital territory and seized non duty paid smuggled goods in worth of Rs75 million.
