DG Transit Trade Zahid Khokhar passes away due to Coronavirus

ISLAMABAD: Muhammad Zahid Khokhar, BS-22 officer of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS), passed away due to Coronavirus on Monday morning. He was under treatment for last few days and died of Covid-19 today.

Muhammad Zahid was most senior officer of PCS and recently promoted to BS-22. He was posted at Director General, Directorate General of Transit Trade. Earlier he performed his duties at senior FBR and Customs posts such as Member Customs, Chief Collector Enforcement Karachi and DG Customs Intelligence.

Muhammad Zahid Khokhar posted his last message on Facebook on 12.6.2020: “AlhamdoLillah Sum AlhamdoLillah I have been promoted to Grade 22. Need lots of prayers as I am down with Corona.”

A large number of Customs officers congratulated and prayed for him. He was the ACE officer of CSA ALUMNI and Customs Service. ‘He served with absolute dedication in most righteous way. We all lost a dearest friend and a brilliant officer,’ said officers in their message. 

Customs Today management and team expressed deep grief over the sad demise of Zahid Khokhar. The Chairman Customs Today, in his condolence message, prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace. He also offered his condolence to the aggrieved family.

A senior customs officer and advocate Dr Shahab Imam said in his condolence message: My heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of our beloved Sir Zahid Khokhar sahib! May Allah swt grant his soul highest place in the Eternal Abode and give forbearance to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss Ameen!  He was my last boss before my volunteer retirement. He was chief collector Enforcement Karachi and I was blessed to be his Additional Collector Staff. He was paradigm of goodness. He loved me as his younger brother unqualifiedly and unflinchingly. He will always be remembered in our Duas and always missed.

Message from Karachi: His Just sent off the body of Sir Zahid Khokhar Sb with heavy heart. Flight # PK304, departure at 3 pm and arrival at Lahore 4.45 pm. His coffin was wrapped with flags of Pakistan and Customs with floral wreath. Customs officers and staff paid last salute to our fallen hero. May Allah bless Zahid Sb’s soul. Aameen
